The water is clear and an ideal bathing and fishing lake
The lake is surrounded by forest and is idyllically situated in the biosphere reserve Schorfheide-Chorin. It is located about 50 km north-east of Berlin near Eberswalde.
An ice-age lake formed by glaciers and meltwater with a length of about 5 kilometers.
With its steep banks and wooded riparian regions, the Üdersee is only accessible in a few places. On the north shore is a public swimming pool. On the south bank a large campsite with its own beach. A rowing boat rental is located on the eastern shore of the lake.
Typical fish in the Üdersee are the white fish species such as perch, pike, zander, catfish but also eel and tench. A fishing license is obtained from the Lower Fisheries Authority Eberswalde.
